A translation memory system (TMS) is a system for managing and re-using translations, including statistics for billing purposes. At the heart of the translation memory system is the TM database, in addition there is an editor and often also a terminology database. Some translation memory systems differ greatly in their range of functions. There are cloud-based and local variants. (see also TM)
