Working student / Internship 

You are interested in software, enthusiastic about technology, and have a passion for language?

You have a knack for software, like to test, and you are curious and structured. You are proficient in your own (and other) languages, understand formal linguistic rules, and can identify, explain, and apply them. In addition, you have organizational skills, love to work independently and understand quickly.

 

Responsibilities

You support our core team evaluating and documenting language software and testing it. You help blc experts document customer processes and record requirements. You document processes and FAQs.

Education

Students of philology or (computer) linguistic from the 3rd semester up.

Knowledge

  • Native German language skills (verbal/written)
  • Excellent English language skills (verbal/written)
  • Excellent  communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Excellent PC user skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Quick access and understanding for software tools in the language technology sector (MT, TMS, terminology database, etc.)

Place of deployment, contract

  • Location Düsseldorf (home office after training)
  • 16 hours/week minimum (days/times by arrangement)
  • Duration: One year minimum, extension possible
  • Hourly wages by arrangement
  • Proof of internship possible

Terminologist (full-time)

Analytical, creative, term-savvy? Sounds like you?

You know terminology management systems and love terminology work. You think your way into new processes and systems quickly. Analytical thinking, organizational skills, independent work, the ability to learn and customer friendliness round off your profile.

Responsibilities

You support terminology projects, conduct customer meetings and document results. You carry out terminology work, deal with terminology software, test and evaluate tools, observe the market and pass your knowledge on to our team and customers.

Education

You are equipped with essential terminology knowledge and interested in teminology tasks and processes. You have a university degree, TH or FH (Master) in philological courses, translation, language technology, computational linguistics (or comparable).

  • Knowledge of terminology tasks and processes

Language process consultant (full-time)

Customer-oriented, addicted to optimization?

You understand how language processes and software work and is necessary to improve it. You enjoy optimizing language processes and software environments.
You like to work in a team and love drawing diagrams and slides. You are no stranger to project management. You enjoy presenting at customer meetings and love to convince others.

 

Responsibilities

You work on customer projects independently, plan and carry them out. You follow up on projects, drive tasks forward and report to the team. You conduct customer meetings and document processes. You take up requirements and implement solutions together with customers and system manufacturers.

Education

You are equipped with essential project management skills and interested in language technology and translation processes. You have a university degree, TH or FH (Master) in business informatics, information science, translation, specialist translation, computational linguistics or comparable.

Knowledge

  • Native German language skills (verbal/written)
  • Excellent English skills (verbal/written)
  • Knowledge of another language
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Excellent PC user skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent project management skills

Computational linguist (full-time)

Analytical, creative, adventurous?

Experienced in computational linguistic processes, such as term extraction, corpus analysis and bilingual sentence alignment, know how language software (MT, CAT, terminology) works and what can be done to improve the results. You can and automate manual processes. You like to work with people, love unsolved puzzles and also like to draw a diagram to visualize your ideas. You think quickly into processes and requirements and find solutions and optimization approaches.
