The introduction of a central translation environment opened up two completely new areas of responsibility for our major customer in the automotive industry: Firstly, the management and maintenance of a wide range of master data for smooth and maximally automated system use. This included, for example, supplier profiles for over 40 semi-automatic, fully automatic and manual workflows, price lists in various categories, supplier-specific billing data and customer and client data from several hundred departments across the group.

The second was to support users in the operation of the new system and, above all, in the event of errors and to ensure that everything runs smoothly. In order to staff both areas with the necessary resources, there was simply a lack of internal employees and the necessary know-how. And this is exactly where blc came into play.

Clean data thanks to professional support

The initial “filling” of the system with the existing customer and supplier data was carried out by the system manufacturer. However, such a system is of course not a rigid structure, but “lives” and is subject to regular adjustments. On the supplier side, for example, new suppliers are added who have to be entered with the corresponding supplier data, prices, language combinations, etc. Prices must be removed, updated or added to the system for newly negotiated purchasing agreements. The customer or client side is also constantly changing, with new people and departments being added, restructured or dropped. All this has to be kept up to date in the system at all times. blc always takes care of the various requirements immediately at agreed service times so that the greatest possible degree of automation can be achieved for the customer on the system side.

Flexible help exactly when it is needed

With the help of system training for internal employees, know-how was built up so that the “operation” of the new system was communicated transparently to all employees. But what happens when things don’t run smoothly? When orders run into errors? How can technical problems be resolved?

blc provides quick and uncomplicated supportvia a tried-and-tested ticket system. Thanks to our many years of experience, we can solve many problems ourselves directly and without further involvement, so that, for example, publication-relevant translation orders can be processed within the delivery deadline. However, should major interventions be necessary, blc acts as the interface to the system manufacturer and clarifies the technical details directly with them. This also takes place in a ticket system that is transparent, traceable and trackable at all times.
